Definitely! You can call me Alyssa and I am a Social Media Manager & Virtual
Assistant for heart-centered entrepreneurs. I help them achieve solid social media
presence through organic and authentic strategies in order to scale their business
Before becoming a full-time Social Media Manager, I used to work in Dubai, UAE as
an HR & Admin Assistant in an international CCTV company. Then a friend of mine
added me in the largest online community for Filipina freelancers and that’s the time
I realized that it is what I’m truly passionate about. So, I studied Social Media
Marketing and through prayers and hard work, I started getting clients until my
passive income already exceeded my 9-5 job income.
I quit my full-time office work only after two months of doing freelancing! If you
commit to your goals, you can absolutely achieve it! Now I get to work and travel
anywhere and I’m truly grateful for all the blessings that I’m receiving in life.
What being a social media manager requires?
In order to become an effective Social Media Manager, you both need to be creative
and analytical. You have to make sure that the content of your clients is always on
brand and tells a consistent story that their audience can relate to. Content is the life
of any social media platforms and what keeps the audience hooked, engaged, and
staying for more. Cultivating a happy and engaged audience is a high-impact task for
any brand that’s why your role as a Social Media Manager is crucial.
Analytical means you must keep track and understand the metrics of different social
media accounts that you are handling in order to determine what is working and
what’s not for that particular business. Social media relies heavily on analytics in
order to test different ideas, check the best practices to attain goals, and find the top
ways of communicating with your audience.
Most of the skills that you will need in order to succeed in this role are:
Content creation skills
Good customer service
Updated with the latest social media trends
What do you like most about your job?
Having a career in social media, it is not as easy as what others think. It can be
overwhelming sometimes because you must have a strategic plan for every social
media platform. But every time I feel like giving up there are double instances where
I can deeply appreciate and love what I do.
In today’s time, the power of social media is huge as we are able to connect with
different people in the world with just a click and start a business even without living
the comforts of your home. My career has paved the way for me to travel wherever I
want while still earning and it has helped me in meeting new people from all walks
of life. It also allowed me to fulfill my passion of being in the marketing side and
being part of success of another business owner.
Working with heart-centered entrepreneurs like Life Coaches, Mindset Coaches,
Authors, Speakers and other inspirational entrepreneurs, I get to do what I love and
at the same time learn something new every day because of what they teach.

Do you have any tips for social media managers newbies just starting
out in their careers?
Do not wait for the right time! There will never be one so if you are wanting to
launch your online business as a Social Media Manager, you just have to trust your
guts and go for it! Decide for yourself what you need in order to move forward with
your plan because there is no exact formula on how to do this. Don’t be afraid to
make mistakes because that’s where you will learn the most valuable lesson that can
impact your business.
Make it easy for clients to find you! If you don’t have a website yet then create a
Facebook page, Instagram account, or LinkedIn profile. Add value that your target
audience can truly benefit from. This will position you as a thought leader or expert
in your chosen niche. I can’t count how many times a client messaged me because
they found my post helpful with their current pain points.
Visibility is essential in order to attract your ideal clients.
In your opinion, is it significant for a brand to be present on all social
media that currently exist, or is it better to focus on e.g. two and
There are thousands of available social media platforms out there so it is important
to narrow it down to the most popular and widely used by your target
demographics. If, for example, a brand doesn’t have that much budget yet then it’s
better if they just focus on two to three where their customers usually hang out. Of
all the social media networks out there, the top ones are Facebook, Instagram,
LinkedIn, Pinterest, and just recently, TikTok.
Different types of content work better with certain social media platforms, so this is
also something that a brand should consider when narrowing down with the choices.

strategy work and make the most of every social media websites.
What are your favorite social media and why?
Personally, my two favorite platforms when it comes to gaining visibility are
Facebook and LinkedIn. These are the sites where I found my ideal clients and help
me achieved my monthly income goal.
For Facebook, my process is to join Facebook groups where my ideal clients are also
a member of. Once accepted, I make sure to provide value by posting content that
answer their business questions or help them gain traction. Staying active is the key
and being consistent in showing up.
LinkedIn is another great platform to connect and find potential clients. Having an
outstanding LinkedIn profile is crucial if you want to find more clients. Do not neglect
your personal branding because this is their first impression of you.

That while doing my work and running my business, I also get the chance to make a
positive impact on other people’s lives. When my clients reach their target for their
business, I feel a sense of accomplishment knowing that I’m part of that success. As
